Pattern parts 18 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I recently did an oil and filter change on my 2.0 TDCI focus using a very well known brand of oil filter, paper element type, plastic top and bottom. After the oil change the oil pressure was slower to come up and extinguish the oil light. I replaced the filter with a Ford filter, cardboard top -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 Cold weather starting 13 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I had an oil change last month and they initially used 10W/40 oil but then I insisted they change the oil and use the recommended 5W/30 oil. I noticed first thing this morning (after a sub zero temperature night) that it took 3 attempts to start the engine. Now I feel paranoid that they left -
Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - Main Dealer Oil Changes-Draining or Sucking? 3 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I tried to remove the oil drain plug from my wifes 1.4 Zetec Fiesta at the weekend, unsuccessfully but I will try again at the weekend. My main point is do most large garages suck oil out of engines these days rather than draining the oil? it would seem to me that possibly the drain plug had never -

Due to a back operation I couldnt do my normal oil change. I saw this well known company advertising an oil change, using Castrol Edge 5w 30 fully synthetic for my Lexus at £38 including filter. I couldnt buy the oil and filter at that price so yesterday had them do it after thinking about -

£157 for an oil change! 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
I agree with HJ that regular oil changes are the cheapest way to ensure the longevity of an engine. Not being a fan of Audi's variable service interval, I booked my car in for it's first oil change at 5,000 miles (1.9tdi) this week. As the car also had an airbag fault (warning light on all -
Oil Overfill - Again !! 12 Nov 2005 (Forum)
. Strangely I never manage to overfill the oil when doing interim changes, so perhaps there is a "technique" I am missing and known only to car mechanics ? Anyway straight home to siphon out the excess with the Pela Extractor - purchased for this very reason (and the interim changes). Hopefully no damage -
Changing gearbox oil - any point? 21 Nov 2016 (Forum)
This never seems to appear in the maintenance schedules, but I was just wondering if, after 120,000 miles, it might be worth dropping the gearbox oil out of the Mondeo and filling with fresh stuff? I plan to keep the car for a bit by the way. This gearbox actually seems to have a drain plug -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - Early Oil changes 13 Jul 2009 (Forum)
If my car has only done about 2k - 3.5k miles after 1 year should the oil be changed or can I leave it for say an extra 3 months? I would normally change at around 9 months if I'm doing an average mileage. I do short trips (not in stop start traffic) and every few months do a 500 mile return trip -
