Car written off while being serviced 7 Mar 2004 (Forum)
My 11 year old auto Nissan 200SX was MOT'd & serviced by my local dealer. A mechanic then decided to "road test" the car & managed to plough into the side of a 4WD Mercedes. The mechanic says that the throttle jammed open but the Merc driver & I both think that he put his foot down & lost control -

Back roomers, In late December 2001 the engine blew on my 12 year old car. The tax was out too on 31/12/2002. I filled in the SORN and posted it at X mas I kept the car on my drive, it would not even run, but it was still insured In early Jan I scrapped the car - got £5 for the car -
Mazda 2 - Recommendations for £5-7k reliable 5dr hatchback 24 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Jazz on my list. The Honda Civic, I'm not too keen on the supposed poor rear view, and it does err on the larger side. The Jazz I honestly don't care if it's seen as an old person car if it's responsive and nippy then I'd be happy, but I hear the ride isn't the most comfortable? Any suggestions -

1995 Corsa B - Swapping transponders 21 Dec 2010 (Forum)
. We tried starting the car with the new key, keeping the broken key body on the same key ring – but it wouldn’t start. We then tried splitting the keys, and putting the old transponder into the body of the new key. I was thrown at first because -
Jazz or Berlingo? 27 Jul 2009 (Forum)
to offer scrappage - they claim their "discounts" more than compensate for this - but leave me with the issue of selling my old car. I don't like the idea of not having a spare wheel - although in 12 years of the Polo I've only ever had one puncture - and I didn't know about that until I went -

Toyota Yaris II/Vitz (2006 - ) - Yaris 1.3 TR 26 Nov 2008 (Forum)
A couple of weeks ago I bought one of these from a Toyota dealer. It was 6 months old and has done 4000 miles. It seemed to be in decent condition and I got it at a good price - £7500. I tried a few Yaris's and this one seemed typical, a bit noisy and not that well finished but that's what you get -

Clio 1.6 K7M Oil Leak ? 16 Apr 2007 (Forum)
We have had our '98 Clio 1.6 8V RXE since it was two years old and only 4000 miles, it has been a great car, now 45000 miles, drives as new, no corrosion just a few dings, all in all a much better proposition than a friends 2000 Yaris. However I have noticed for some while, probably for three -
The Audi is 2.... 27 Feb 2006 (Forum)
: it'll be worth less but I'll owe less. The last car (Golf TDI estate) at 2.5 years old was worth £2,000 more than I owed. Has anyone with experience of PCPs any views on whether it's worth waiting a few months longer? Secondly, if I'm going to pay less per month, the shortlist looks like -

User Roadtest - New Polo 14 Jul 2004 (Forum)
plastics actually make it look cheaper than it really is. Looking at an old model Polo (the one with the revised dashboard), I couldn't help thinking both the design & finish were rather better in the older model.... Surprise no 2 was the engine - maybe mine had been flogged to death as a courtesy car -
Taxi! 14 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Yesterday, I took a taxi ride from the Solna region of Stockholm to Arlanda airport in a V70 D5 auto. Nine months old, with 187,500 km showing. In English, that's approximately 116,250 miles, or about 13,000 miles a month, which equates to the approximate frequency of 'annual' service. Average -
Oil but not filter changed 17 Jun 2003 (Forum)
miles and I would be surprised if 9k miles on one filter would be a problem. I figure next time an oil change is due, I'll either spend the time and do it myself, or I'll be marking the old filter before taking car to garage, and asking to see it once it has been removed and replaced. cheers, Ed -
Ford Mondeo - Large family car recommendations 6 Jul 2020 (Forum)
Hi all, I'm looking to get a larger family car as our current 2013 Ford Focus is getting on a bit but also is a bit too small for our needs - it was bought over a year before our (now) 10-month old baby was even planned! Therefore the Focus' boot space isn't sufficient -
Ford Fiesta 2010 - Do I need to change timing belt before its time? 16 Aug 2016 (Forum)
they won't replace it and the recommendations on the book is 10 years or 150 000 miles. The car has 65 000 miles on the clock and is 6 year old. I had to borrow a fair amount of money to buy it and can't afford any purchases these next few months but I have read horror stories on the net. I am planning -

it's to do with a car owned from new, recently out of warranty which the manufacturer can't repair. So it's your call. My car is 3 yrs 10 months old, has done 55,000 miles, serviced as per the book, using only synthetic oil and using only shell fuel. Basically it has been well looked after. I month -
W124 Mercedes 1500km review 16 Mar 2010 (Forum)
My New Year's present to myself was a 3 litre 1988 Mercedes E class. Here's a quick report of our first 1,500km together. Firstly, wow - what a car! Despite being 22 years old, it's astonishingly better than the W203 C class I owned from new and had up until a few years ago
