Morning All, I have challenge of organising a family trip (5 adults, a 7 year old and a 2 year old) to Boston for a family wedding. Flights and hotel are easy enough, but car hire appears to be a bit of a minefield! I've had a gander at Dollar and Alamo's websites and there is a myriad -

shock result for 2008 Megane 1 Aug 2014 (Forum)
According to the latest "Which?" car reliability survey, the 2008-on Renault Megane is near the top of the list for cars up to 3 years old, and still holds up well when over 3 years old. Rather an about-face from the preceding model. -

Old cars! - Do you know any alternatives to copper grease? 6 Jul 2015 (Forum)
Hi, I'm currently in the middle of nowhere in France, and I had to change my brake pads. The calipers are about 17 years old, and therefore pretty corroded. The new pads are binding, so normally I'd put a bit of Copaslip on the lugs to keep them moving, but this being The Sticks, I -
BMW 5-Series E60 (2003 - 2009) - Un-registered old model 5-series BMW 27 Jun 2008 (Forum)
I see one of the car supermarkets is selling un-registered, but old model 5-series BMW's at a considerable discount to the current model. Does anyone have any information on these cars. I understand that they are the result of over-production. If so, have they been standing in a field for five -

It's cool over there but not here? 16 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Digressing a bit from my thread on the vandalism to Sarah Howards 17 year old Fiat Panda made me think. She obviously loved her little old car. I'm full of admriation for her in bucking the trend. My point is driving a classic or old car in the United States seems to be the cool thing to do -
Bums on Seats 3 Jul 2009 (Forum)
, the 2 year old has an all-singing car seat. Come January, then, I'm anticipating the purchased car needing to host, in some combination from left to right, two car seats and a fidgety 8 year old too (who will no doubt crave a position next to the window rather than sandwiched between his siblings. Can -

Buying used - old with low mileage or not? 20 Aug 2010 (Forum)
What's your opinion on this question? I do 25k/year and on average keep a car for 4 years. I've tended to look for cars with low mileages for their age (my last purchase was 20 months old with 7k on the clock.) This is done on the basis that depreciation kicks in regardless of mileage -
In general which is better, Old or New?. 8 Sep 2005 (Forum)
I prefer old cars to new ones because they tend to have more character, and they're a lot easier and cheaper to repair, and more robust. Also I don't think that new cars today actually run any better than new cars did 20 years ago.... My own car is a 1994 Vauxhall Astra 1.7DTL. Is has no engine -
What sex is your car? 25 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Not sure if this has been done before or not, but what the hell... Reading through PoloGirl's thread earlier, there was a little bit of banter over Polo's gender (the car, not the girl). To her, Polo is most definitely male. Now my 10 year old unmodified Escort i have always addressed as female -
How are we all buying new cars right now? 3 Sep 2016 (Forum)
My daughter is threatening to trade her old corsa in for a new car. By that I mean brand new. She's 22 in October so will want something to suit. She needs to commute to work. I'm thinking 0% finance with old car as deposit and free first years insurance? -
"Old Car" smell 7 May 2005 (Forum)
Much has been said in the past about the distinct "New car" smell. Having recently turned seven I have noticed my car has started to aquire the aroma of all the bangers I drove years ago. Hard to put your finger on what causes it but it seems to be a smell consisting of burnt electrics/rubber -

Sold the old house,Got the cash.. - Don't want to give nearly 20K in tax 1 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Finally sold our old house a year after we moved, got the money, thinking of the car I would really really like, and decided not to, mostly because of the amount of vat on the sale, and the huge depreciation on the car i was thinking of. So Plan B or C, buy myself something a bit -
