Overall reliability

Sold my 2005 XC70 D5 SE manual which I absolutely loved for a new 2016 model XC70 fully automatic which is simply fabulous, in a different league.

I knew when it was time to part company with my faithful 2005 163 bhp XC70 that it would be replaced with a new one, such was my love of this car. Practical, comfortable armchair ride, rare manual averaging 43 mpg overall, reliable inexpensive to run, and a drive which exudes a sense of safety and security in a luxurious interior. I took delivery of my new 2016 model 220 bhp D5 AWD Geartronic SE LUX in July and to date have covered just under 4K miles, and the difference is unbelievable. prior to buying, thinking that I am going to keep this car for the long term possibly 15 years, I specced it up to include most of the Driver Support packs to include as much of the latest technology as was available with comfort safety and security in mind, to a list price just shy of £49k but with Volvo discounts and use of the Internet managed to purchase for £36,500 including 5 years Volvo service plan for £500, Volvo On Call emergency assistance, on Volvo interest free finance, half down and the balance interest free over 24 months, I consider it to be the bargain of the century. I love every moment driving the car, the power difference from the old car is amazing, 6 speed automatic with smooth seamless changes, little engine noise, adaptive cruise control, automatic bendy xenon headlights, excellent satellite navigation, luxurious cream leather interior, tilt and slide electric. sunroof and low 40's mpg. Annual road tax £180, fully comp insurance under £400. Go and bag yourself a bargain!
