Avoid

An update to my earlier review. I bought a low mileage, approved used example from a Volvo main dealer with full dealer history yet the car proved to be disappointing in almost every way. The suspension was overly firm and as fragile as glass, regularly shattering coil springs, drop links and top mounts. The engine was losing coolant and a front wheel bearing was droning away more noisily than the wife by 55,000 miles. Rust was forming above the windscreen and the underside of the car looked like it was a decade old or more.

Sadly the high quality Volvo’s of old are long gone post Ford and later Chinese ownership. Instead we have cheaply built and grossly overpriced junk that is unworthy of the badge. The poor standards of our local Volvo dealer only sealed the deal and poisoned me and my family (who historically bought Volvo’s) from the brand for life.

My advice is to avoid at all costs, these are no better than the equivalent Range Rover/Land Rover regarding reliability and parts prices. There are no real upsides beyond the comfortable seats.
