Great car. Frustrating design issues

80k miles travelled. No major mechanicl issues
MPG average 46.

Airbag problem 2017. Changed x3. Off road for 2 months while new airbags ordered from Sweden. Eventually found to be a loose connection under seat.

LED side lights. Failed twice. The 2012 facelift meant that sidelight bulbs.. Available in supermarket for £2, self change... were redesigned to LED units... Have to be changed by dealer £260. If you can get the lights from Sweden. Dealer takes up to 3 months to get these.

So, the car is OK, but why on earth should a vehicle be off the road for 3 months when the sidelights bulb fails? And why should a bulb change cost up to £300.

I could accept expensive long repairs for major mechanical failures, but not for a blown bulb.

Ironically, the car has been perfect in every other respect, and for a big heavy 4wd suv, has been very economical and comfortable.

Let down by truly i****ic design decisions with respect to lights and electricals.
