Comfort and safety

Bought the car as an ex fleet demonstrator saving a bucket on the new price. The car has so much more as standard than a 5 series or the equivalent from other manufacturers and for a lesser price. Volvo didn't scrimp on the quality of the manufacturing process or the materials either. The full leather seats are like sitting in your favourite armchair while the geartronic box is smooth from standstill. Even the old Volvo problem of blowing bulbs every other day doesn't happen with this car. Front and rear passenger space is very good seating five adults in ease with plenty of leg room. The boot space is good too despite the smallish aperture of the boot opening. Fuel economy is good for a car this size and weight giving around 45mpg on a long run and 28 around town with a heavy foot. More reserved driving easily sees you into the low 30s. It's not a drivers car as it's front whee drive and it isn't meant to be. It's quite capable of going at speed but it won't win any races in the urban derby against more sports orientated machinery. Service costs are good if you avoid certain shark franchise dealers. Will I change it? Yes, but only for something more practical for my current needs. As an exec saloon, it does it's job well.
