Volvo S40 (2004 - 2012)
1.8 SE 4dr Saloon
Great Car to drive , Holds the road like glue , Dashboard Fault for Emissions now rectified.
Excellent to drive which is smooth and comfy.
Had a fault on the dash just a week after purchasing from a Dealership in Neath , South Wales ( wont say their name but their tv advert is " Tell um trevor sent ewe " ). The car was an ex Leaseplan car with Full Service History printout. The Volvo S40 had to be returned back to them as there was a fault light on the dash which i found out related to an emmissions fault. It turned out that the Catalytic Converter had to be changed which could have cost me around £700 to fix, so lucky it happened within the first month under their Warranty. I now have to go and buy a Warranty just incase something similar occurs again.
Checking the History the fault had obviously shown up twice previously on ECU Readings at the local Volvo Garage when the Lease company still owned the car ( once on an MOT as a High CO2 Reading ). This was fixed for about a year. So be aware to look out for this if buying one.
I was only issued with One Volvo Smart Key which I have now found out is very costly to replace. To get a second one for us both to have a key each is silly prices at a Dealership.
