great

OK I know Honest John says it a banger, but it's fast, pulls strong with the six speed box, gives me around 45-55 mpg (really!). Big estate in which my six foot + son has slept on a single mattress before, terrible smell but he kept out of our tent!

Honest John says the Ford Mondeo out classes it, but I think like all Fords they're basically c*** after a few years, I much prefer the Passat's smoothness and build quality. Like all cars it has it's faults but mine has been trouble-free. Clear the plenum drains, use the right oil for PD engine and they go on forever. Local; Taxi had one with over 350K miles, it had a few clutches and CV's but It's still nosing around town.

I've had nearly six years out of mine and don't plan to change it anytime soon. Looks ratty but I don't give one. Only gripe as I get to 65 years old is it's very low on the road and getting in and out makes me emit old codger noises.
