Great car, r****** software.

Bought the car with view to promised Over The Air (OTA) software with no need to visit service centre.

In late Sept/Oct 2022 VW announced OTA update from version 2.4 to 3.0. Many people tried this overnight upgrade, some were successful but many were not resulting in undriveable cars which had to be taken to service centres.

In early 2023, VW announced cancellation of OTA upgrades - take car to service centre for upgrade - if everything goes OK, 24 hours, if not 4 or five days!

Booked car in on 7th May 2023, told of problems and given date of Monday 17th July. At 17:30 on Friday 14th July got phone call from service centre stating "Another car failed update, having to be taken to High Voltage centre (two in Scotland) - we cannot take your car, contact HV centre."

Contacted centre and now booked in for 27th March 2024.

I actually like this car but, because of complete failure of VW to handle upgrade issues I am seriously looking to change my car and looking into a legal approach in to the failure of VW OTA issues.
