Due to its design It's perfect for us

Hi,
I am 74years old and have had a replacement knee op. that was not a complete success to say the least!
My partner who is slightly older than me has had a hip replacement.
All of this has lead us to, recently in turn, having to wave goodbye to a 928 porsche, BMW Z3, Jaguar S type (latest version 2.7) and arriving to our latest mode of transport, a VW golf plus 2ltr diesel with a DSG gearbox (left knee NBG!)
This car was chosen after much homework, boiling down to just the VW or a Nissan qashqai, the latter losing out due to its auto. gearbox that I did not rate.
What is not much thought about is the way one enters and exits a car. Ones left heel faces downwards on entering but is uppermost on exiting thus if the toe catches the cill on exiting, the knee is forced to articulate futher, this in my case is very painful.
On the other hand my partner needs a high seating level to aid entering and exiting the car.
The VW has a low cill line with a high seating level making it perfect for us.
Coupled with these virtues is all that you would expect from a VW, good all round performance, solid feel and its easy on the eye.
We have been very pleased with the VW, so much so, we have every intention to invest in the latest version that we understand is in the offing.
To sum up, for any folk in our situation or just getting a bit stiff in the joints, please don't forget there are a lot of us, this car should be definitely considered.
ps. I have been driving for 57 years, was a member of the 750 and porsche owners clubs and just a silly statistic, had owned 21 cars by the age of 21 - in the good old days. I have a photograph showing me painting my first car, in a North London street 1957, a 1936 ford V8!
Kind regards,
JaaTee
