Overall reliability

Good car, economical for size, refined.

Bought the car in Dec 2015 with 90k miles on clock. Ex reps car.
Now done over 11,000 miles in it. So it's on 101 k miles now.
Have been using shell v power diesel in it for about 6k miles, makes it a have a bit more go in it performance wise, but it's no racing car with only 1.6 tdi engine
Nice refined engine and very quiet I think.
Averaging 54.1 mpg on v power.
Have managed 62.7 mpg on a tank (671 miles range) on a trip to Cornwall.
Had the cambelt changed on it and water pump, over £400 job on it.
Drives like a small car in town, nice light steering and the gear and clutch nice and light on it.
Waiting for the air filter like part to be changed by vw some time in 2017, it will be interesting to see what if any difference it makes to the car.
Overall happy with car.
Would possibly look at buying 2.0 tdi golf estate next time because the smaller engine isn't really as economical as it makes out on paper. (Then again what is?)
