Volkswagen Eos (2006 - 2015)
2.0 TDI DPF Open Car
Our mid-life crisis car and enjoying it immensely.
After having an appalling experience with a Citroen Picasso, we wanted something as far removed as possible. It is not particularly practical, but instead of getting a car to fit us, we fitted ourselves to the car. It is only used on an occasional basis, and touring France was a joy that brought the fun back for us. So far, no problems; not over-impressed with the Car Supermarket we used, not as upfront as they should be with details in my opinion. Performance is adequate, if not thrilling, but still enough to drive enthusiastically. Economy is incredible; even pressing on brings 47mpg, very pleased. My wife has chronic back problems, but still finds the ride OK, even with 18" rims and rubber-band tyres. We love the spec. that includes heated leather seats, sat nav, and other goodies. We shall keep this until the novelty wears off, at least until the end of this summer, at least one French trip is planned already. Next car will have a bit more 'poke' I think, as economy is not a great issue with the way we use cars.
