Vauxhall Meriva (2003 - 2009)
Design 1.6i 16v People Carrier
Vauxhall's usual arrogance when something gos wrong, they don't want to know.
Half decent car, although it has problems. Poor forward visibility, especially going round corners and tight bends. There is also a well known fault with the EPS motor/controller, but instead they're replacing the steering column for free and NOT the EPS unit, which will cost anything between £600 and £1000+VAT to replace. Have noticed sluggishness on mine, unsure if others have this. Battery will not fully recharge either, unsure if this is yet another fault. The good things about it's height, easier to get in and out of than something that sits nearly on the ground, has a lot of space when seats folded down, back seats can be moved back, although it reduces the people it can carry from 5 to 4, but increases rear legroom. I guess like most cars, every car has a different fault/faults, the problem is how the company deals with it, and Vauxhall has a bad history of just ignoring it. Overall, I'd probably not recommend this car due to it's known faults, which Vauxhall are refusing to take much notice of. If they had, I might've recommended this car to people.
