Good design but uncomfortable ride

This is my 6th Prius. The last one (2011) was a slightly firmer ride than my previous one (1997) but acceptable. This 2018 one is such a bumpy ride not just on local roads but also on motorways. I have tried replacing the 17 inch wheels for 15 inch as according to some reviews it should make for a smoother ride. Unfortunately it has made little difference. I suspect as a result this will be my last Prius. I shall miss all the other excellent features of the well designed hybrid. My son still has the 1997 version and I much prefer the comfort of the drive in that car.
