Owned for just over 7 months and have covered 6k miles, so thought it time for a review.

Toyota are hardly known for designing breathtaking cars, look at the Avensis and you'll know what I mean!

Was originally going to buy an Aygo or Yaris to be used for my 22 mile rural commute to work and had arranged the test drive both in Jan. However my son saw the advert for the C-HR and asked if we could test drive that too. Needless to say I went for the C-HR, which as delivered before 1st April was road tax exempt. :)

Now my other two cars (Audi A6 quattro and Jaguar XK8) both have leather and navigation, but I always end up using my garmin, so Nav or leather wasn't a prerequisite, so I went for the basic (?) Icon in Decuma Grey

Apart from the windscreen change (done when convenient for me and they threw in a courtesy car with a full tank and my car had a full tank when returned) I've had no issues

I am currently sitting at an average of 65.4mpg over the 6k miles, and had had it as high as 69.5, but a recent long (500 mile) M'way trip saw that fall, so now I use one of my other cars for those long-haul trips and save the C-HR for my work commute and local drives.

Comfort is great, as is height and road presence, plenty of storage space, ride quality on my 17" rims is perfect and my 22 mile commute is painless returning between 60-80mpg according to the on board system.

Negatives so far are minor

Small fuel tank of 39l is small compared to my other cars (75/85) but it gets me 500 miles
Touch screen is a little clunky/old/slow
That annoying blue digital clock from the 80's that doesn't let you switch 12/24...grrr!
Will get the occasional 'clean sensor' message which soon clears
No remote tailgate opening, on any model in the range
No power-fold mirrors or dip when reversing with any model in the range
No auto-lock when above 10mph on any model in the range
The cigar lighter is in the centre storage box, so a separate nav means trailing wires

It comes fitted with primacy 3 tyres which seem adequate, will be fitting a set of Cross Climate+ shortly which may improve things over the colder months.

The car is still relatively new and there aren't that many on the roads, so it get's quite a few admiring glances, especially from Nissan Juke owners who are now regretting purchase...as that car is UGLY!
