Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2009)
T3-S 1.8 VVT-i 5dr Auto
BOMB PROOF
Has sat outside - no garage - for 15 years yet looks brand new despite15 winters. Nothing faded, rusted, flaked off. Ridiculously well made. My brother has a BMW 5 series, he keeps mentioning my car - something about the styling. He's got his eyes on it I know that much. I keep telling him look it’s just a hatchback Avensis! I think his car looks good too but maybe there are too many beemers on the road nowadays. Great to drive and never faltered. The 1.8 auto does 40 mpg on the motorway and it easily gets past traffic if needs be. Vast space in the hatchback area (my racing bike fits with no need to take wheels off) - and everything seems to be made to last. I only buy petrol cars as I like peace and quiet. This is the fifth Toyota in our family and they are engineered beautifully. Very quiet on the road - even the indicators are quieter than normal - I know that sounds weird. I'm not sure how Toyota makes money on making cars like this. There again I buy about three years old not brand new. I used to have an old Merc 190E which was lovely. Smoother than silk. Vandalised to hell though. But even that one slowly succumbed to the ravages of wear and tear. Toyotas are made for longevity. Mine is champagne silver - beware of red and black colours (red oxidises and black very hard to keep clean)
