Suzuki Grand Vitara (2005 - 2014)
SZ4 2.4 petrol
A great all round vehicle with a smooth quiet ride and pleasant environment in the cabin
I bought this car new almost 6 months ago as a replacement for a Volvo Estate. So far I haven't found any problem with its size as it is very versatile. The ride and handling are excellent. The car is quiet on the motorway. It goes over speed humps and potholes as if they weren't there. The ambience in the cabin is excellent as trhe climate cotrol works better than on more expensive cars. The visibility through the windscreen, the size of the car, and excellent rear view mirrors make this a very easy car to manoevre in tight spaces
The engine is smooth and quiet but not super lively, the gearbox has become soother with time. Motorway cruising is fine and the engine has enough go to overtake on the open road. The only downside is pretty poor petrol consumption. However I knew that when I bought it - if I did a lot of miles - I would have bought the diesel.
Ilooked at a Sportage and Tucson before purchase but the engineering and the finish of this car is far superior and it drives much better. It also has all the safety kit.
As for reliability - so far no problems at all
