The best Outback yet
This is the sixth Outback I've owned since 1997 and it's by far the best. My last one was a diesel SE manual bought new in 2010 which I kept for 2 years (I had a Volvo XC90 after that).
I am amazed how much better to drive this latest version is. The steering is sharper than the 2010 version and the new suspension has got rid of the excessive body roll when cornering. I quite like the minor external changes and the interior of the car looks better to me (less bright aluminium bits). The CVT transmission is fine.
I paid an extra £1000 for full leather seats so the car is pretty expensive but it does have a 5 year warranty and I know from experience that Subarus never go wrong anyway.
With the 2010 manual version I used to get 49 mpg and this new one is currently at 45.3 mpg, corresponding to the manufacturer's claimed combined figures.
