Skoda Fabia Estate (2015 - 2022)
1.2 TSI 110ps SE DSG 5dr
Solid, sound, sensible
Bought my lo-miler in the middle of last year, an ex-mobility estate. Very clean example.
Pluses: terrifically practical; comfortable (better seats than a 3-series I had); sufficiently quick, economical, cheap to run (mine is £20 VED); well made; smooth and quiet motor; digital speedo makes analogue dial redundant
Minuses: no-one would describe it as exciting; I find the DSG a bit too eager to change down on inclines - the torquey motor could easily cope with running a higher gear than it usually chooses; curiously, the door seals seem very fragile and tear and wear easily - my fix involves supergluing lengths of cycle inner tube over the broken bits; pity the rear seats don't fold completely flat - dual height floor (which removes the step) both reduces load height, and costs at least £100 as option; nothing is soft-touch in the cabin, though most of the instruments and controls are straight out of just about every VAG vehicle, so high quality
