SEAT Leon (2013 - 2020)
2.0 TDI 184 FR Technology 5dr Hatchback
Economical and reliable
I bought this car to replace my 11 plate Octavia VRS petrol as my new job meant I was doing 45 miles each way in my commute. The VRS was only returning about 36mpg on average but even driving sensibly it always put a smile on my face. The Leon returns an average of 52mpg so far which is obviously saving me money. It is very well equipped and looks good on the outside and in the cabin. The issue I have with it is that it is just a little too boring to drive, also the seats are very uncomfortable especially on a long drive. The standard Bridgestone tyres are terrible especially in snow, last time we had snow I had to be towed off of our local bypass even with the traction control switched off. I have now upgraded to Goodyear Eagle tyres which seem to be much better, no snow since the change though. Our local dealer isn't the greatest and the set servicing costs are a bit on the high side. To sum it up, not a bad car overall but if my commute was shorter I would go back to an Octavia VRS as soon as I could.
