Overall reliability

Terrific value and excellent all rounder

Searched high and low for a relatively inexpensive but well specified car....Ford/Vauxhall/Citroen didn't even come close to the Seat Ibiza 1.2 TSI with a 7 (yes that's right...SEVEN) speed twin clutch gearbox developed by the VW Group.....Ford offered a pathetic 4 speed auto, as did Vauxhall....Citroen was 5 speed but horribly more expensive to buy and run! First things first....the DSG box delivers almost seamless gear changes....only thing of note is an extremely light 'lumpiness' when it changes down into 2nd gear when cold.....this becomes almost nonexistent when thoroughly warmed up though. Economy is also proving to be good, averaging nearly 40mpg running around and about....mainly shortish journeys.
Build quality is, again as you might expect a car from the VW family to be, solid.....paint and panel fit very nice....Inside the relatively spacious cabin the materials used are of good quality with no obvious fit or finish issues. Now the best bit....Standard equipment on the car.....There isn't a single extra that could be squeezed into/onto the car in my opinion....Want cruise control? You have it....climate control....certainly sir....how about really useful rear parking sensors....of course....and the list goes on.....Would I recommend people buy this particular make and model? YOU BET I WOULD.....
The only thing I don't understand is why there aren't more savvy people out there buying this impressive car....
