Comfortable with all the gadgets. MPG terrible

I bought this mainly after reading HJ’sreview. He seemed to have discovered a car same size as a Q3 / Kodiaq /GLC better equipped and thousands of pounds cheaper - certainly at 12 months and 14,000 miles.

I bought mine from Renault Retail. It’s the same spec as HJ’s car and has the the climate pack with the heated windscreen and steering wheel along with the BOSE stereo. It was obviously a Renault management car. only difference is 19” wheels rather than 18”.

it’s a good comfy car, loads of room in the cabin and the boot mainly because it’s not trying to be a 7 seater like the X-Trail but is a 5 seater. i am at the age where i don’t need to speed off the line at traffic lights or take a corner at the highest speed possible so for me handling and performance is fine.

Equipment levels are great, full length sunroof , blind spot system, lane keeping system + automatic breaking.
Sat nav is OK, it really does spot the jams and it can cost you many hours if you don’t trust it.
It has Appleplay which is great, but switching from ApplePlay on a podcast to listen to the radio takes 3 button presses.
having had a BMW before i prefer iDrive to navigate menu and confirm with a click. Having to plant your finger to a certain area on the touchscreen is hit and miss.

So good points, comfy, lots of room, nice cabin but not a BMW but almost there.
Also the standard fit Goodyear tyres are still OK at 22K but will get changed soon ready for winter.

The bad points.
Fuel economy not even close to office figures. i get 38 on mainly fast A roads and motorways. The computer is 1-2 mpg optimistic.
The touch screen is a bit of pain. in and out of menus to switch from Podcasts to Radio.
Sat nav sometimes a little slow but mostly OK.

CVT is mostly OK, i just leave it in Drive and it does everything i want.

As a new car it’s expensive, but used it was a bargain.
My renault came with 4 years of warranty so i have 3 years and upto 100,000 miles so for my 20,000 mileage hopefully everything is covered.

Not for everybody but do your research and it maybe for you.
