Range Rover (2002 - 2013)
3.6 TDV8 Vogue Auto 4 X 4
A luxury car with very good forward vision, very good performance and reasonable fuel consumpsion
An imposing car with lots of technical wizadry, so much that there is often something going wrong. In the 2 years of ownership there have been several events that caused the car to be in useable. Twice battery failure at home and once where I had to call out the breakdown service. The deployable side step on the neat side broke its front bracket causing it to drop one end to near the ground, I found I could not buy new brackets and had to fabricate one. The car was stolen and the front nearside wheel, tyre and suspension were damaged, Just this week the alternater gave up causing all manor of warnings, transmission, handbrake faults, steering wheel and seat movement. This took 6 1/2 hours to change but cured all the warnings. Also this week sudden loss of power, with a car full of passengers,
and copious black smoke, I nursed it home by stopping ,turning the ignition off, then back on I could go app. 100 yards and stop again. (not much fun for 5 miles). This turned out to be a turbo pipe come loose. --- My verdict ;- a great car (my 5th RR) and I love it (wise to have another car in reserve)
