Porsche Cayenne (2010 - 2017)
Diesel
Seriously superb and a big difference from the completion
A year or so ago, I nearly bought what I thought was the same car. I declined, thinking them to be over-priced for 'what you got'. Also, I thought the ride a tad too fidgety, having driven large luxury saloons for many years.
I bought a Mercedes ML and relatively quickly became regrettful. The latter was reinforced when I came to sell the car, losing £13,000 in a year, on a secondhand car!! (Bought a year old car, and did 18,000 miles in it). The Cayenne's just don't seem to depreciate at anything like this rate and now I know why - the car is superb.
However, I out a rider on my last comment, by saying I have bought a car with the following spec, which I believe makes a huge difference over 'a standard car' and the usual ones knocking about: PASM, air suspension and 18" wheels.
The ride is significantly smoother than a car with PASM and air suspension. Also, on 18 wheels, the Michelin Lattitude's are really quiet. This really is an amazing experience; the car rides like my old Jaguar (57 Plate) Sovereign, but with some off-road capability. It is a superb luxury cruiser, but in Sport Mode, really quick and fine handling, for such a weighty beast.
It is beautifully appointed, with lovely design touches.
So, early responses are very favorable. If you are considering buying one, I would recommend. However, drive two cars with gin the same day, like I did, one with PASM + Air and the other without, and you'll see what I mean.....Oh yes, if like me you value a quiet ride, avoid anything but the 18" wheels.
I bought mine from Porsche at Hatfiled. They were good to deal with and did what I asked of them.
