Peugeot 5008 (2010 - 2017)
Exclusive 1.6 THP 156 5dr People Carrier
Quiet and comfortable
Bought this car as a replacement for a Zafira 2.2Sri. Having had 2 Zafiras in a row (still good cars) i fancied a change of manufacturer, not been disapointed. The rear seats in the Zaf were good but in the pug you dont have to decant all your passengers to get someone in or out the back row, or slide the middle row forward to put them up or down. When the rearmost seats are up there is also a great space under them for storage, very similar to VW's. Looked at Touran, expensive for spec I wanted, and the Grand Picasso (same car as the 5008) but couldn't live with weird dash layout. Verso nicer in the front but have to cut off legs to get in rear, Mazda too cramped plus more of a 6 seater. Ford s-max just too expensive for me or impossible to find without a big wait. Live in Central Scotland and purchased from Pentagon Peugeot in Burton. Best customer service i've ever had, flew down to east midlands to pick car up and they sent someone to the airport to collect me (no charge). Thanks. Car the quietest I've driven and very comfortable(loudest thing is the rear ventilation fans when on max blow, just get the kids to turn it down to 3), massive rear view mirrors are excellent. Bought the Exclusive which comes with the glass roof and head up display, the roof makes the car a far brighter place to sit and is especially good if in the back row as if feels far less claustrophobic than MPV's without it. The head up display i've seen trashed in the motoring press as a gimic and waste of money but I think its excellent and hardly ever look down to the speedo as its right there infront of you. (goes a little fuzzy round the edges with polerised glasses though) Got the car in the middle of the bad snow and believe me it was horrid up here and it performed brilliantly, far better in the snow and ice than my Zaf was, admittedly not hard as that was extremely poor. Fuel consumption not bad, after 4500 miles its getting around 33 mpg mostly around town, improves to 40-45 at 70mph(even seen higher but just giving averages). Like the looks for a MPV as its not too boxy or vanlike. Glove box r****** and eco mode which turns off the radio unless the engine running is the most stupid thing i've ever seen on a car, but a minor gripe. Bluetooth and ipod control good but not as good as FIATs blue & me, that designer deserves awards.
