Peugeot 307 SW (2002 - 2008)
S 1.6 16v Estate
Great first family car
1.6L, 110hp. Great classic looks (2005 facelift) , more of a true estate rather than a bulky MPV with LOTS of backseat space and great visibility due to large windscreen. Kids love the glass sunroof, but it tends to heat up the interior during the summer even with the blind closed. Boot size is immense. Individually removable back seats that can also be placed in an optional third row allow loads of any shape to fit. Great on national roads, extremely stable at speeds up to 150 km/hr, but a little too heavy for peformance driving. Quite engine but petrol-hungry too. Lack of torque may necessitate frequent gear shifts in traffic. Some interior materials look cheap but are well fitted. No technical problems up to now (40,000 km). Some poor ergonomics in the cabin, typical of most Peugeot vehicles I've owned so far, may put off certain people. Great value for money when you're looking for space and comfortable long journeys, a great first family car for someone on a budget
