This car is just a people mover so if you want fun forget it!

I bought this car just after its launch in the U.K. having passed my Skoda Fabia on to my brother. This was a big mistake, because although my Fabia was 7 years old it was and still is (still going strong after 14 years) a better car than the Peugeot. That's not to say the 207 doesn't do its job, it does, but just not as well. The Peugeot is underpowered and its road holding, whilst acceptable, is not as good with noticeable roll on corners, but what can you expect from a French car! Interior space is average for a car of its size though I find that the boot holds less than the Fabia's did. The Fabia's turbo engine has a noticeable kick when accelerating hard, something that the SW doesn't have and over a comparable period I found the Peugeot's MPG to be about 8% worse than the Skoda.
This all sounds extremely negative but it's not that the Peugeot is a bad car - I've had no problems with it - it's just dull and this comes from someone who doesn't drive for fun. The SW is a competent enough car but the competition is fierce and there are plenty of comparable vehicles who do the job better for the same price.
