Peugeot 207 (2006 - 2012)
S 1.4 16v 5dr Hatchback
Makes me happy
I bought this car to replace a disastrous Renault Modus with a QS5/Quickshift gearbox that Renault couldn't fix and I must say I'm very pleased with it.
The car had only done about 19k miles when I bought it and apart from a few minor dings runs as well as the day it was made.
Handling is positive, if somewhat uninspiring. Clutch is light. Brakes are good. The only slight criticism I'd have is that the gear change can be very slightly 'notchy' but this only really becomes apparent if you are attempting fast gear changes.
Space is OK and there are three proper seatbelts in the back, which is good when transporting teenagers and their friends. The boot is a bit small though.
Petrol consumption is good and there's more than sufficient power for your average driver. Touch wood reliability has been 100% so far.
Build quality is good, bodywork feels a bit tinny in places that don't really matter.
All in all a good car.
Update: Car has now done about 23,000 and apart from some git scratching the paintwork, I'm still happy :)
