Nissan Micra (2010 - 2016)
1.2 12v 80 Visia CVT Auto 5dr Hatchback
I believe that the CVT gearbox self destructs at around 43,000 miles
After three visits to our local Nissan dealer who has serviced the car from new, finally advised it needed new CVT gearbox. As the car is 3 years and 9 months old Nissan customer care said it was out of warranty but as this is our third Micra they would look at our case.Earlier this year we paid a bill of £200 for a faulty, I believe sensor.
Nissan has made what they believe is a very 'generous' contribution towards the cost of new gearbox and 50% of the labour. As a result on Christmas eve we paid a bill of £1,633.00 ouch! Merry Christmas from all at Nissan.
This car cost my wife £10,600.00 and is now worth £3,200 - so we have lost in 3 yrs 9 months £7,400.00 depreciation + sensor and gearbox a total of £9,233.00. Nissan and its CVT gearbox supplier should not evade their responsibilities to loyal customers.
If it looks like a lemon and leaves a bitter taste in the mouth it is a lemon!!
Extremely upset customer
