MINI Hatch (2014 - 2024)
Cooper D 116 3dr Hatchback
Mini f56 built to fail
The Mini Cooper f56 was the worst car I've ever owned. The good points: great fuel economy (68mpg) and great drive.
Unfortunately, in the one year I owned it, it worked without fault for 4 weeks! In the end they could not fix the faulty Windows; the driver and passenger Windows would move, rattle, and knock on the car. I had to sell the car back to the dealer at huge loss to myself; or keep a car that was permanently faulty. The long list of faults I had include the exhaust (design fault on the diesels), shock absorbers, electric folding mirrors, seat covers, and USB port. But the windows were the last straw; they had 6 months and 4 attempts to fix them.
Mini uk did nothing to help.
The dealer just fobed me off, claiming they couldn't get parts and that they had raised cases with mini.
The mini is desirable and iconic, but it is inexcusable that it is so poorly made given the extreme cost.
