MINI Hatch (2014 - 2024)
Cooper 1.5
Nice to drive, good quality, good performance, horrendous unreliability
Bought it in July 22, under 28K FSH , nothing but serious engine issues after a few weeks of ownership, I have only covered just over a thousand miles as the garage have had it longer than me, now going back for its second major repair (it maybe uneconomic to repair and written off by the garage) , nice Mini looks, pinpoint excellent handling, good brakes, decent room, superb performance (on the few days its worked well) , excellent long run economy (even better than my old 1.4 Corsa which was brilliant), totally inaccurate figures on the urban run, 32mpg at best(usually 30), MINI states well over 40MPG, impossible even when driven very gently ,very nice interior ,almost as roomy as Corsa, solid feel, great styling , boot just about big enough for me on the F56,nice design and drives oddly just like the original 60's Minis but with power steering, more room and better brakes. Only buy with great caution, great cars but highly suspect reliability, ignore the woefully inadequate Mini's servicing schedule of two years between oil changes, they need an oil and filter change at least once a year or 6000 miles, when buying, if it rattles on cold starts....walk away, otherwise it will cost you thousands and thousands of pounds in repairs.
