1.5 cooper petrol 2dr cabriolet

Massive improvement over previous model. Feels like a grown up car, but possibly a little clinical:?

Only 1k miles under my belt but the car is a big hit! Really well built with all the obvious bits and bobs of real quality. The ride is firm but settled and to date little evidence of scuttle from lopping off the roof. A little wind noise but this is accentuated because of the near silent engine. Not overly intrusive at motorway speeds. The car feels bigger and heavier but is easy to place in the road. Roof down (limited!) and the process is near silent. No banshee squealing from this roof - yet:? Still as much fun as the old model, feels the same roof down. It could do with more noise from the engine. It almost has a good warble but just doesn't quite resonate in the cabin. However, standard sound system with input from IPHONE (no cd) is way better than the previous so you can listen to your fav music to cover the lack of engine note.
MPG in early 40s brim to brim which is not bad - mostly from 700 mile round trip to Lancaster. Considering little inflation over previous model, cost and equipment/performance this has to be test driven if you like "canvass" roofs
