MG ZS (2017 - 2024)
1.0 GDI Excite Auto 5dr
Good value for money and 7 year warranty
Bought my 1.0 litre auto in December 2019, brand new. Wanted something good value, with an 8 inch screen, Carplay and a good warranty. Already knew about them as I persuaded my father-in-law into a ZS earlier in the year. On a price point, looked at the Duster, but the interior was dreadfully plastic for my liking, and I couldn't get the facelift model as an automatic. It's nippy for a 1.0 litre auto and can keep up with motorway traffic. I get around 42mpg, which isn't exceptional, but not that bad. The ZS has got a bit of a Mazda thing going on, which is no bad thing. The ZS is bigger than most cars in the same price bracket, and the boot swallows most things without any issues. The interior is easy on the eye, and the 8 inch touchscreen is great to use. You would have to pay extra to upgrade to that size of screen in other cars. I use Carplay all the time, so had no need for the Exclusive model, with it's leather and installed sat nav. All in all, a great car which is good value for money. I managed to get mine with 3 years servicing, which was a bargain, as MG dealer servicing is a bit steep compared to other manufacturers. Don't listen to the Journalist snobs, give it a try for yourself and you will be pleasantly surprised.
