Lovely to drive but.......

Owned car for 5 years and sold at just over 7 years old. Lively car to drive but fairly economic on fuel if you care to take your time.
At 7 years old external body panels still looked like new.
However the corrosion on running gear, suspension components, discs and CV joints was atrocious. So severe that ABS sensor ring on front wheel rotted away requiring CV joint renewal at great cost. ABS faults on numerous occasions required sensor renewals. Rear tailgate switch failed. Battery went flat and lost key coding. New battery and key recode at dealer. Eventually sold car on with further ABS fault. Lost £10,000 over 5 years of ownership.

The rot on a 7 year old car was more severe than what was on my previous Rover 75 at 16 years old. Never had any issues with ABS in 13 years ownership.

Do not consider an MG unless you buy new and sell on within 3 or 4 years. Avoid 2nd hand.
