GLA 200D

Love it.

I've read mixed, mostly average reviews for this new version of the GLA baby SUV from Mercedes. Thankfully I was not put off by them and realise some reviewers are biased against SUV's - they don't even pretend to be neutral. I've only had my one just over a month. To say I am impressed is putting it mildly. It has a gorgeous interior - spacious, classy and a joy to sit in. The steering is light and precise and the brakes well calibrated to my instinct. The MBUX system is so easy and intuitive that I took to it straight away. The fuel ecomomy is superb - I regularly achieve around 60mpg - a very welcome bonus. I prefer a comfortable ride over a sporty firm one so I deliberately chose the non AMG model to get the 18" tyres to maximise comfort. In this regard I don't think it's quite as comfortable as a Peugeot 3008 but it does come close, I'd give it a 4 / 5, 5 being max comfort. I think it's a really smart looking SUV without being ostentatious. Overall I'd give it a 9/10 which brings me back to my first sentence ... I bet that some of those average reviews will be reviewed again in time when this little baby Benz proves it's worth among the other premium contenders in this class !
