Looks great and is a marvellous long distance car but riddled with problems

I would like to have kept the car for longer but sold it on in part exchange after 9 months of breakdowns and problems - the good news was that it was an excellent long distance tourer and I drove to Poland and France in it with the greatest of ease - it will cruise comfortably at 120/130 mph in Germany!! - mileage between 35 and 37 mpg on Shell V Power!! - the bad news - well where do I start? - within weeks of buying the car from an extremely helpful Mercedes dealer in Boston, Lincolnshire the car dumped all of its coolant in Perth having already been to a surly and unhelpful Mercedes dealership in London who did not sort out the problem! - then the fun started - weird noises from under the bonnet when starting up with a hot engine, pinking noises from the engine when accelerating, an appetite for expensive oil (6 litres in 10,000 miles), air conditioning that could not cope with 40 degrees of heat in France and the engine running on 5 instead of 6 cylinders which took a very helpful and professional Mercedes at Brooklands several days to sort out - the car looks great, the Satnav and ICE were outstanding but never again - sadly an unreliable and poorly made car.
