Mazda CX-5 (2017 on)
SportNav 4wd diesel
Great to drive and handle, good power/economy, good value package , WOEFUL warranty approach by Mazda U - so watch your windscreen!
Bought new MK1 2015, impressed so bought new MK2 2017. Excellent SUVs, better than claimed performance, 46-55 mpg. Good handling. Engine and m/gearbox first class. Drive more like sports petrols. Good value package. Minor trouble with oil dilution by diesel in MK1 plus retractable mirror water ingress but both solved. MK2 again had mirrors replaced shortly from new. MK2 a great car - until the pristine, unmarked HUD windscreen cracked from bottom to top when a/c was activated (car static) on a cold morning with driver just getting settled..
Mazda UK claimed it had been struck,dealership/driver/two expert assessors say no chipping or like, the crack originated from electrical terminal fixing point at extreme bottom of screen where glass is weakest, hidden away and protected. Mazda UK then claim it was stress related, not covered by warranty after 9k miles or 1yr. No-one can find such a clause in the warranty. Then Mazda reverted to claiming it was contact damage - total nonsense. Going public and legal on this £650 HUD screen. Mazda's approach appalling and we say fraudulent - there is a history of screen failures..Driver has 330k mile Audi 100E Avant with original screen - says all. BEWARE of MAZDA UK's deviousness. Wont buy again, interest in another CX5 + CX30 has gone. Smart boys sitting on bums some 500 miles distant should stop reading JK Rowling - and try honesty in customer care.
