Disappointed is too disappointing a word to use

It looks great from the front and side but the rear appearance is one of underwhelming 'meh'.
The interior is wonderfully understated. It's not particularly ergonomically laid out or sensible.
Comfortable seats and good heating, but the AC is weedy and it takes an eternity to chill the cabin.
Rattles and squeaks abound from the side pillars and roof lining rubbing and vibrating.
HUD is a nice touch.
Some serious cheapskate tactics...only heating the sides of the steering wheel and just under the parked position of the windscreen wipers,
And not even a washer fluid level warning. TPMS won't identify which wheel.
Software is slow and glitchy. Often left with blank screen as it forces a reset between Android and Mazda systems.
The MAZDA app is pathetic. (Uk). You can lock it and beep the horn and not much else. Wow.
Came from being able to unlock, lock, full.trip data, map and mpg logging, preset the internal temperature (warm or chill) all.from the app.
Niggles such as it disables 'stay on lights' if you enable 'walk.away locking'.
Fuel economy is woeful. Short runs round town..low to mid 20s. Fair on longer trips, maybe get low 40s. Noisy.under acceleration, like a budget ****box with a 900cc engine...and S L OOO W. 2.litre engine and over an 11second.0-60. Tramps badly away from damp junctions...embarrassing. Gearbox is slow and non-responsive. Seems so disconnected from the engine and pedal...sport mode is a hoot...to laugh AT. Adds more "go faster" noise...and holds revs soooo long the eventual drop to a cruising gear is a doubled down dump.
Is it fun to drive, no. It's a utility round the town, A to B, chuck the dog.in the back.seats and go to the park...well, the boot is TINY for such a big body...
The mild hybrid, no, just no. It's just a start/stop system that only occasionally works.
Mazda fans.will say I'm being harsh or overly critical. No, I just expected a car with a premium price tag to be at least as good as a It's 'zoom zoom' advertising professed.

Have come from a long line of large family cars such as Lexus GS 450h and lastly a Jag XF r-sport and honestly believe the marketing on this.

In conclusion, before dropping £37k after a test drive...pop next door and see the Nissan dealership...or buy a nearly new premium marque.
