Excellent combination of talents

I could not find a car with a better compromise of size, performance, economy and style against my needs. Every scored comparison of features that I listed put the CX-30 at the top, so I bought mine 12 months ago. I've been really satisfied with it. I enjoy driving and enjoy using a manual gearbox, at which times the CX-30 is rewarding to drive when you have the revs spinning away, nice steering, handling and suspension. Low down torque is - not much. But it lifts its skirts and gets going well at higher revs. I did not expect to average as much mpg as I have, and it can be a smooth and luxurious place to ride when you want it to be. Or a decent size and well-shaped boot if you want it to carry stuff. I've towed a caravan on lengthy holidays of a couple of thousand miles, which it took in its stride, very stable.
I like that it is easy to switch off all the irritating electronic driver aids and that it does NOT have a touchscreen, but the head-up display is great and the active cruise control works well.
No issues really, except that the 12v battery was probably wrecked by standing a few weeks at the dealer before I bought it, so it used to bong at me every time I got in to say that the battery voltage was low. It didn't give me any trouble, so I just waited until the end of warranty was getting near and Mazda replaced the battery no problem - all good since.
