Mazda 5 (2010 - 2015)
2.0 Sport 5dr People Carrier
Well built, lots of space and the best driving MPV out there for the keen driver
After trying a few MPVs I settled on this new shape Mazda5 purely for the way it drives, the electric sliding doors and the potential economy for a petrol.
Bought this model as a 2.5 year old with 21k miles from a Mazda dealer.
Major plus point of this car is the smoothness and quietness - we were given a Mazda6 as a courtesy car by the dealer once, and it wasn't any where near as quiet or smooth.
Economy wise, it does pretty good for a car of its size. Getting high to mid 30's with a 50:50 town/open road mix. 40+ is possible on a run. IStop helps. Power is good, it is faster than the diesel.
Practicality is excellent. A lot of people are put off the fact it doesn't have individual 3 seats in the middled row. It isn't an issue as the width of the seat is excellent (better than an average family hatch back) and we get two car seats and a 9 year old in the middle without any problems. We travelled to Italy in it fully loaded without complaints.
Only issues have been a creaking on the front suspension.
