spacious, good to drive and well made

there is a serious problem with the power steering of this car, which can suddenly stop working without any warning. the fix is to stop, turn off the ignition and start again, but god help you if the steering packs up on a tight bend at high speed because this is one hell of a heavy car to steer without assistance. mazda know all about the fault (if you persist) and fit a new unit under warranty, though i am not clear if they have actually solved the root cause of the problem. i believe this vehicle should be subject to a safety recall by uk authorities, but vosa brushed me off when i tried to suggest they action this
other than this, ownership has been a pure pleasure and nothing at all went wrong in the time i owned it before passing it on to my son. it is well made, and very versatile. a rear shock absorber was replaced at service and under warranty. i wonder if they are up to the very heavy loads the vehicles design means it can take?
the car is utterly hopeless in snow
the rear folds to make a spacious and comfortable bed for two
