Kia Cee'd (2010 - 2012)
2 1.6 CRDi (114bhp) Auto 5dr Estate
Great looking but disappointing
This is a lease car from Motability now covered 33k, looks great in Phantom black withhold alloys. Nice interior with good spec however first impression was hard ride and annoying auto door locks that are a real pain.
Within a few weeks the Bluetooth failed so back to dealer to be told full audio needed changing .... No stock 6 week delivery. The same fault occurred twice moe again no stock 6 weeks wait.
Next problem front passenger door difficult to shut first time problem still not sorted. First winter (and next two) the front passenger door would not unlock or open, trip to dealer new door lock required (6 week wait) and the same for the next two failures.
Last niggle rear wiper blade split factory only part 12 weeks delivery.
So the car may have a 7 year warranty but parts are a major problem.
The other big disappointment is the fuel cost this car returns less mpg than my previous Volvo V70 auto estate .... The average is 39mpg driven gently goodness only knows what it would do if driven hard.
Thankfully the lease ends in three months the next car is a focus auto petrol estate I will cheer when the Kia goes.
After owning cars ( of all types from Rolls to mi
a mini since 1967 the Kia is the most disappointing ever.
The dealer (Petch of York) reception staff were verging on insulting giving the impression that wheelchair users are bad drivers ....she came out with a clip board on every visit to inspect the car even on a return visit less than 20 hours to fix a fault of their making. When I asked why the car should.be inspected at every visit she said it was a condition of the lease I checked and this was not correct.
So should you buy one? My opinion NO
