Nice drive, shame about the dealers & Jaguar/Land Rover care
I have enjoyed driving the F Pace, good handling, good on economy, stylish and comfortable. However, my experience of dealership & Jaguar customer care leaves much to be desired! To expand on that further, a few weeks before the manufacturers warranty finished, I noticed a slight engine rattle when starting from cold. Booked it in to Duckworth’s Jaguar of Boston and it was diagnosed with a failing timing chain. This car had a full Jaguar service history and had only covered 26900 miles. Lots of shrugging of shoulders, no explanation why this fault could happen to such a low mileage vehicle. Advised by the service manager to drive it home but not “go far in it”, no courtesy car forthcoming, could not do the repair for 2 weeks. Contacted Jaguar customer care, no courtesy car, not particularly interested. Fortunately the diagnosis was just within warranty so the £2000 bill was covered, however no warranty on the repair (parts or labour). Having done some research on the internet, this timing chain problem is not unusual, an independent Jaguar dealer in Swansea told me they had changed “hundreds of them” and Jaguar know all about it as the repair kit is dealer sourced only, and is a modified repair!!
When I change vehicles, it certainly will not be for another Jaguar/Land Rover.
