Hyundai Veloster (2012 - 2015)
1.6 GDi 140 Sport
Reliability, great looks and handling in one package.
I guess the looks are subjective, but I think they're great, actually wanted a yellow one, but a low mileage green one in great shape and spec turned up locally. As my second choice colour, it was meant to be. Got this after 2 Hyundai Coupe's and it continues the theme of reliable, affordable "something different" motoring. It has all the bells and whistles (Sat nav, cruise, climate control, reverse camera, etc) is smooth, quiet comfortable and practical given the coupe styling, handles superbly, with nice direct steering, and the performance is good given the engine capacity. My average fuel consumption in 22 months is 33mpg, but that includes lockdown era town driving only for shopping, care visits to mother, and since lockdown has eased, it's more like 38-40 in spirited driving. Quick word for my usual dealer, Corkills Hyundai, (previously TWG) who I've used ever since getting my first coupe, who are reasonably priced, thorough and have good customer service sewn up. Finally, I'd ignore "all 1 star" reviews of any car, almost certainly posted by badge-snobs! Hopefully my "all 5's" balance it up! :-) (But seriously, can't think of anything that disappoints).
