A great car to drive and own.

The new Santa is both the first SUV and non-German car I have owned in over 25 years of driving. I bought it because I was impressed with the standard equipment; the 5 year warranty; the comfortable interior and finally the way it looked. I had read various reviews before committing myself, as it was a lot of money and over my usual budget, however after the first three months of ownership, I am pleased with my decision and very happy with both the performance and comfort. At motorway speeds it really is quiet (some minor wind noise from the large mirrors) and having driven 500 miles in one day with no stiffness afterwards, I was incredibly impressed with the seating position. It has good acceleration, easy to use sat nav, loads of space for passengers, and a good size boot with the third row of seats folded down. Fuel economy is not up to the manufacturer's 'claimed figure' - I'm currently averaging 40 mpg, but that does include the running-in period and it is getting better - but I don't think it is ever going to be nearer 50 rather than 40. Finally, does it have any niggles? I'm sure it does - maybe the direction of the air on the climate control setting for screen and footwell could be more centrally directed - but I would be splitting hairs and finding fault just for the sake of it! It is a good car that is a pleasure to drive, looks great, very comfortable and has so far lived up to my expectations.
