Honda Civic Tourer (2014 - 2017)
1.6 SE DTEC Tourer
Love it but not without issues
Purchased the tourer as I need to carry tools and golf clubs The flexible storage space is the best I've had as yet. This car takes 4 guys with 4 sets of golf clubs and luggage for a weeks holiday. Fuel consumption on a 550 mile Bristol to Aberdeen journey gives around 60mpg though the accuracy of the fuel computer (and speedo) are out by about 5%. It's good that the car gives good fuel consumption as the cap opener is not the easiest to access. The small breather tube under the fuel filler pipe gets blocked frequently and requires a wire to be pushed through occasionally. The seats are in the main comfortable but the rear passenger is unable to slide toes under the front seat restricting leg room for an issue that should have been easily resolved during design. The seat covers are of poor quality they are particularly difficult to keep clean. For me at 5'4" a comfortable driving position means the speedo is blocked by the steering wheel and the seat bolster is wearing through another sign of poor quality fabric.
Main dealer servicing is hugely expensive even the small garages charge silly money for fully synthetic oil.
I doubt if I will have another unless Honda pay more attention to the interior design and materials this should cost no extra as the solutions are easily achievable.
