Overall reliability

It is a fantastic car to drive.

I have had this car for three years now, and although I haven't done a high mileage in that time, for various reasons, when I do drive it, I love it. To be fair it is the top of the range for this model.
It accelerates well, even in ECO mode. it takes corners and bends superbly.
I have never kept a car past the three-year-old date but decided to do so with this Civic as I have yet to see a better NEW one on the market (in my price range!).
This will probably be my last petrol car as I will almost certainly go to a Hybrid next.
It has been TOTALLY reliable since purchase. I have had a couple of updates (one to the front grill and one to the air conditioner), both of which were known faults to my Honda dealer and were changed at no cost to me during the warranty period.
Part of the deal was 5 years of free servicing and roadside assistance so I still have a couple of years left on those.
There are probably two small and one larger downside.
Boot space for my golf clubs with its trolley means the back seats are permanently down.
More importantly, I do have to concentrate on my driving position, otherwise, it can get irritating when I "slump" on a long journey.
Neither of these faults is exactly a deal-breaker, one merely being a lifestyle issue.
With today's fuel prices the larger fault is that the real-life MPG is down to 32.7, but then again I really only do very short (less than 5-10 miles) journeys mostly, so this low return may well be down to my driving habits rather than endemic to the car. I will never know!
Overall, especially as it looks so different from any other car in a similar class - notice how they all look the same! - with its sleek lines, I would definitely recommend this car.
My absolute favourite bit - I hate night driving nowadays - but the car controls the headlights for me perfectly, turning on and off the full-beam as required, so one less concern for me.
