Overall reliability
Have just returned the (lease) car after 4 years use.
Over 100,000 km (60,000 miles) averaged 6.1km/litre. Trouble free except for:
- driveshafts replaced at 1,000 km because of a manufacturing defect in the cv joint
- radiator replaced because it developed a leak at 99,000km (no sign of any physical impact)
- the lease company found that the rear shocks were leaking when I returned the car at end of the lease. Wanted NZ$2,500 (GBP1,200) to replace them.
The interior temperature control never worked was overly sensitive going from too hot to too cold in changing the adjustment by 0.5deg. Ford never acknowledged anything was wrong. Apparently it’s a result of the wrong version of software being installed.
(The control in my new 2019 mondeo works much better.)
