Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008)
Ghia 1.6 TDCi 5dr Hatchback
Good fuel economy, easy to park, nice interior, very poor build quality, very dangerous suspension failures
Bought this car with 20k on the clock, top of range model.
Good: excellent fuel economy, cheap tax, nice leather interior, firm ride, good front seats
Bad: poor NVH at idle, transmission boom shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, poor ride in the back
The most unreliable car I have ever owned:
Rear damper failure at 25k
Rear wheel bearing failed at 30K
Drivers side front spring snapped at 50k puncturing the front tyre! Very dangerous
EGR valve failed, expensive £300 at 70k
Diesel fuel injector copper seals failed £300 leaking exhaust into passenger compartment
Burns oil at start up for approx 30 secs suspect turbo ring seal failure
Front heated screen failed (£400 to replace) also increases glare when driving at night
Bad corrosion on chassis components
